Challenge: Smoke & Fire During Welding

Springland Manufacturing develops grain handling equipment for farm and commercial storage bins. Before contacting Babco, the folks at Springfield Manufacturing were struggling with heavy smoke being produced when welding short lengths of roller chains due to the heavy packaging oil that coated them. Despite the use of ventilation and smoke extraction equipment, small fires contained to the oils on the chain would ignite during welding. They tried using detergents, degreaser, pressure washers and any other method they could think of to try and alleviate the hazards, but with no success.

After contacting Babco and purchasing the Ranger RS-500 Spray Wash Cabinet, Springland Manufacturing was able to clean the oil from the short lengths of roller chain with ease, essentially washing away the possibility of smoke and fires. The Ranger RS-500 Spray Wash Cabinet worked flawlessly and they thanked us for the excellent service and amazing product.
